Иностранные акции котируются по третьей секции. При Токийской фондовой бирже имеется также внебиржевой рынок акций (over-the-counter market), зарегистрированных Ассоциацией японских дилеров по ценным бумагам. В конце 1991 г. на внебиржевом рынке ценных бумаг начала функционировать автоматизированная система заключения сделок. Членами Токийской фондовой биржи являются постоянные участники, выступающие в сделках с ценными бумагами в роли принципалов, или агенты (“сайтори”), которым разрешается выступать только в качестве посредников между постоянными членами. Торги в настоящее время в основном автоматизированы и происходят через компьютеризированную систему принятия и исполнения приказов “KOPEC” (CORES), хотя до сих пор торговля приблизительно 150 видами ценных бумаг первой секции ведется в операционном зале методом свободного биржевого торга (ореп outcry).
