Riera, así se llama a la ribera. Nuestra Tierrina se divide en tres zonas muy diferenciadas, xentes vaqueiras, xentes de la riera y a xentes de la mariñana, quiere esto decir, gentes de la montaña, gentes de la ribera y gentes de la marina. En la ribera y la marina es donde están enclavados los grandes caxeríus (caserías), en las aldeas de las montañas no hay lugar para estas poxexones tan axeitáes (posesiones amplias, llanas, bien situadas, etc.), en las aldinas hay teixáes de llabranza (casas de labranza) más o menos ricas, pero en definitiva más costosas en sus trabajos y menos productivas. A mí siempre me gusto ir a las ferias y mercados, jamás compré ni vendí ningún ganado porque nunca ninguno tuve, pero yo me crié entre ellos, por esta razón todavía en el día de hoy siempre que puedo voy a las ferias del ganado, y se distinguir casi sin equivocarme quienes son los astures de la montaña o vaqueirus, los de la riera o la marina, aunque entre estos dos últimos algunas veces me confundo. Se distinguir al tratante honrado del marrullero, soy un alumno muy aventajado de todas las cosas sencillas y ancestrales de mi Tierrina, porque sin ser mía ninguna, he tenido que estudiarlas todas para que no se me enojase ninguna. Aquí en este trabajar diario en el rescatar las Costumbres y la Llingua de Asturias, es preciso no tener títulos, ni ser adelantado profesor de pacotilla de filosofía y latín, aquí lo que se necesita es saber la LLingua D'Asturies, y decírsela a las gentes con la sencillez y naturalidad con que ha vivido siempre. No vale ir a la guerra por deporte, ni para aparentar en valentía, o para hacer bulto, o enfriar las balas que el enemigo dispara, a la guerra se va para defender la razón y la justicia hasta vencer o morir. Que es lo que yo estoy haciendo, porque parece ser que yo tan solo nací, para defender la LLingua de mi Tierrina de ese cabanáu de rapiegus, que jamás se preocuparon de hacer nada hasta que yo los desperté, y ahora quieren hacerlo ellos todo, pero copiando de mi trabajo y haciéndolo al revés. —Pero en todo este despertar de estas gentes ávidas de resonancia en alguna cosa, que sin comprometerse en la ridiculez, les valiese para dárselas de asturianistas, no sabiendo de Asturias nada más, que una buena y sola cosa, como fue y es, el buen duernu que desde que han nacido, tuvieron delante el su focicu en cuantas cosas han necesitado para poder ser algo más de personas de peso de lo que lo han sido en toda su miserable vida. Yo siempre pensé, que si en vez de hacer todo mi costoso e increíble trabajo en solitario y en la más humilde pobreza, hubiese contado con la ayuda de ellos, no me refiero a pesetas porque no creo que tuviesen muchas, sino al número de personas jóvenes que tenían, no quiero pensar lo que hubiese pasado, pues seria muy capaz de fomentar si preciso fuera, hasta una sangrienta revolución en la defensa de las Tradiciones y Ancestral Cultura de Asturias, que en definitiva es siempre la sabia nueva que alimenta la Justicia y Libertad de los Pueblos, ya que en las Raíces está la poderosa fuerza, que alumbra los frutos de la inteligencia Humana, un Pueblo sin Raíces, es como una patria sin bandera o una religión sin dios.
