Llatín, lengua que hablaban los antiguos romanos, puede decirse que el Latín es el padre de la "CHINGUA D'ASTURIES”, ya que la Madre es el ancestro de las gentes que poblaban Asturias. —Los romanos con la fuerza de las armas jamas pudieron vencer a los astures, no a los que poblaban las llanadas, que ya de aquellos tiempos estaban acostumbrados a dejarse someter porque de seguro que muy pocos astures vivían en las riberas de la mar, por la causa de las continuas invasiones que por ésta les llegaban, por ésta razón casi se puede asegurar, que estos hermosos parajes de mi Tierrina debían de ser los campos de guerra de los astures. Los antiguos pobladores de mi Tierrina tenían en sus montañas uberrimas y ricas los más poderosos castillos defensivos que el hombre pudiera crear, por esta razón en un principio las legiones Romanas eran diezmadas cada vez que intentaban romanizar el invencible Pueblo de los Astures, que exclusivamente vivía de lo que producía por si sola la dulce y rica tierra que los albergaba, los hombres que así vivían a mí me parece que debían de ser tan amantes de la alegría y del amor, como de hacer la guerra contra todo aquel que por la fuerza les importunara. Pero no existe ni jamás existirá fuerza por poderosa que sea, que no pueda vencer o someter el ingenio de la inteligencia, siempre que esta vaya encauzada, al bienestar y respeto de lo que pretende cautivar. Por esta simple razón, alguien pensó, que la única manera de conquistar, no de vencer aquellas orgullosas e indomables gentes, no era otra que la del amor.
