Amagostón. ¿Qué asturiano no se ha comido alguna vez en su vida en amigable, alegre y feliz compañía un amagostón de buenas castañas regadinas con xidre (sidra)? Yo me he zampado en mi vida miles de amagostones, los he comido por necesidad, por hambre, que es cuando verdaderamente se sabe el grande valor que tienen todas las cosas. En tiempos de las castañas, llegaba a los castañéus y fuesen de quién fuesen, si el amo no los llindiaba (cuidaba) yo me enfardaba (llenaba) de las mejores castañas, que luego colaba conechas (marchaba con ellas) a los pastos comunales, aú arrexuntaba fuéas, felechus, murgazus (donde rejuntaba hojarascas, helechos, malezas), atreinandu 'n balagarín (haciendo un montonín) y por d'enría d'él semaba les castañes, ya chuéu llantandoi fuéu, esgalazáu ya felliz aguardaba qu'amagostaren aqueches castañines que diben allegrar el miou ventronín ameruxadín de fame. Ya despós de fartuquín, alcuérdume qu'allugábame con fuercia la sede, y'entóus colaba a gálamus fasta lus fontanus ou fontiquines, ya d'enría sous cristiallines agues apoúxaba lus mious focicus ya non lus xebraba fasta que nun me fartare. Las mejores castañas para hacer un buen amagostón son las llamadas castañas de cuerra, por estar más bravas y hechas, ya que han permanecido en las cuerras, situadas en los mismos castañéus, hasta que los arizos se pudran, que suelen tardar un par de meses, depende cómo venga el tiempo, y una vez que los arizos ya están podridos, es cuando se hace «l'esbítcha», que consiste en sacar las castañas de dentro de los arizos mayandu (majando) éstos en la ariceira (campera destinada a majar los arizos) y allí mismo, al lado de l'ariceira se hace el primer amagostón de castañas cabantes d'esbítchare (que en el momento fueron esbilladas), por regla natural se suelen hacer estos amagostones con el murgazu (maleza) que cabría los arizos en la cuerra, se amontona en una pila, se vierten las castañas por encima, se le pega fuego y se espera a que se queme todo el balagarín de murgazu (montón de malezas) y al tenor que el fuego va consumiendo las malezas, las castañas al ir asándose algunas de ellas explotan con fuerza y saltan de la pila envueltas en chispas ante la alegría y el regocijo de los más pequeños que acorralan el amagüestu, y cuando ya no queda nada más que las humeantes cenizas, haciendo de abanico bien con la chaqueta, con un saco o con lo que sea, se quitan las cenizas que cubren las amagostadines castañas, que quedan reunidas en el quemado campizo, todas muy sabrosas y bien asadas. Después, mujeres, niños y hombres que están haciendo la faena de l'esbítcha, muy contentos y ceremoniosamente se sientan al lado del magüesto, y entre sonrisas, bromas y regocijos, todos simples, sencillos y naturales, se come el primer amagostón de l'esbítcha. Después de recogidas todas las castañas de l'esbítcha, se meten en sacos o a granel en las goxas, o dentro de la esquirpia, (cesta enorme y alargada con capacidad de cuatro goxas) y se bajan en los rametus, ou corcetas (rastros), hasta la teixá (casa) y allí s'escuétchen (escojen), las más grandes se apartan para ponerlas en maurera (madurera), arriba en el xomeráu (desván), bien tapadas con fués (hojas) de castañal, que son las que mejor faen (hacen) que las castañas no se amayuquen (se pongan duras). Las más pequeñas se meten en el xardu, para que les fumaireres (humaradas) del char faígayas en mayuques. (Del lar las haga duras). Y el malucu (las malas, por mal criadas, o algo podres), sirven para dar piensos al pótchin del trabayu (el burro de trabajo), o d'angún oitre anemal qu’enxuma mái lu ñecexite. (O de alguno de los otros animales que en suma más lo necesite). TRADUCCIÓN.—En las noches de las primaveras y de los veranos, el culebrón hace unos cánticos, que yo y todos cuantos nos hemos criado en las aldeas hemos oído muchísimas veces, entonces las culebras que están en el celo, cuando sienten tal cántico, se van acercando silenciosamente hasta el lugar donde se encuentra el Culebrón, y cuando están en tal sitio, si son más de media docena, se pelean entre sí con enloquecida fiereza, porque por el instinto de vida ellas saben, que el culebrón no podrá hacer el amor nada más que de seis para abajo, una vez que ya han quedado las seis culebras que se ganaron el puesto de apadrentarse con el culebrón, éstas tendrán que trabajar para él, quiero decir, que le tienen que alimentar, mientras que buscan un lugar para apadrentarse, que este tiempo nunca suele ser mas largo de dos o tres días. Luego las culebras dirigen al culebrón hasta la yacija que antes hubiesen elegido, y en tal lugar, nada más que el sol estuviese en el sitio de más calentamiento, se enroscaban todas las culebras al culebrón, haciendo un trenzamiento que se movía sobre sí mismo revolcándose entre las babas y segregaciones pegajosas de sus cuerpos, y todo este verdoso espumaraje de babas y demás segregaciones, se escapaba de sus cuerpos por un pequeño agujero que para tal acaecer dejaban sin cerrar en el fuerte trenzado que hacían, así era que estas babas y demás pastosos y brillantes líquidos, al caer al suelo por debajo de las culebras entre el polvo y el arenisco, en el mismo suceder que las culebras con grande frenesí se enroscaban apretándose con desmedida fuerza haciéndose el amor, por así nombrarlo, siempre en el mismo lugar, y cuando ya habían satisfecho su apetencia, se marchaban de aquel trenzamiento donde se habían apadrentado, cada una de ellas para el lugar que mejor le conviniese. Riera, así se llama a la ribera. Nuestra Tierrina se divide en tres zonas muy diferenciadas, xentes vaqueiras, xentes de la riera y a xentes de la mariñana, quiere esto decir, gentes de la montaña, gentes de la ribera y gentes de la marina. En la ribera y la marina es donde están enclavados los grandes caxeríus (caserías), en las aldeas de las montañas no hay lugar para estas poxexones tan axeitáes (posesiones amplias, llanas, bien situadas, etc.), en las aldinas hay teixáes de llabranza (casas de labranza) más o menos ricas, pero en definitiva más costosas en sus trabajos y menos productivas. A mí siempre me gusto ir a las ferias y mercados, jamás compré ni vendí ningún ganado porque nunca ninguno tuve, pero yo me crié entre ellos, por esta razón todavía en el día de hoy siempre que puedo voy a las ferias del ganado, y se distinguir casi sin equivocarme quienes son los astures de la montaña o vaqueirus, los de la riera o la marina, aunque entre estos dos últimos algunas veces me confundo. Se distinguir al tratante honrado del marrullero, soy un alumno muy aventajado de todas las cosas sencillas y ancestrales de mi Tierrina, porque sin ser mía ninguna, he tenido que estudiarlas todas para que no se me enojase ninguna. Lo que jamás he estudiado fue en ningún colegio de pago, por esta razón no he podido aprender el arte de mentir, de halagar, de hacer el pelotillero, que de seguro me hubiese reportado largos y alegrosos beneficios, porque en este mundo el que dice la verdad sencilla, simple, natural y noble, pronto se encargan de cortarle el rexuétchu, los que tuvieron la xuerti de estudiar, titularse, etc., etc., etc., en un colegio de pago. (Tengan presente cuantos me escuchen que en este sentido yo hablo siempre dirigiéndome a la treldada de los dirigentes del Conceyu Bable y Amigos del Bable, y no porque personalmente me hubieran hecho a mí nada, sino que por la causa de su fucheróuxa manera de tratar mistificando, enredando, y liando a las gentes de Asturias, con su forma de inventar malamente vocablos, y cambiar las perfectas definiciones de las palabras por otras que ellos se han sacado no se de que estercolero de los muchos que según parece deben de tener en sus cerebros. Porque hay que tener estos lares desnaturalizados d'afechu, para meterse a titulados en una carrera, en la que a poco que piensen ellos sólo pueden algamír el puesto de las bestias, ya que como jinete sólo la podré ganar yo, si la ''Cadarma" me dexa vivir hasta que sea viétchu, y les vidayes non s'escosen de entendimiento. Aquí en este trabajar diario en el rescatar las Costumbres y la Llingua de Asturias, es preciso no tener títulos, ni ser adelantado profesor de pacotilla de filosofía y latín, aquí lo que se necesita es saber la LLingua D'Asturies, y decírsela a las gentes con la sencillez y naturalidad con que ha vivido siempre. No vale ir a la guerra por deporte, ni para aparentar en valentía, o para hacer bulto, o enfriar las balas que el enemigo dispara, a la guerra se va para defender la razón y la justicia hasta vencer o morir. Que es lo que yo estoy haciendo, porque parece ser que yo tan solo nací, para defender la LLingua de mi Tierrina de ese cabanáu de rapiegus, que jamás se preocuparon de hacer nada hasta que yo los desperté, y ahora quieren hacerlo ellos todo, pero copiando de mi trabajo y haciéndolo al revés. —Pero en todo este despertar de estas gentes ávidas de resonancia en alguna cosa, que sin comprometerse en la ridiculez, les valiese para dárselas de asturianistas, no sabiendo de Asturias nada más, que una buena y sola cosa, como fue y es, el buen duernu que desde que han nacido, tuvieron delante el su focicu en cuantas cosas han necesitado para poder ser algo más de personas de peso de lo que lo han sido en toda su miserable vida. Digo que algo de positivo han hecho, pues por lo menos me han ayudado grandemente en conseguir hacer propaganda en los diferentes medios de comunicación de Asturias, lugares que para mí siempre estuvieron cerrados, y aquí si que aunque muchas gentes se han reído de sus infantiles ridiculeces, por lo menos han hecho y concienciado la alerta, también me prestaron grande ayuda pintando las paredes y murias de las carreteras de mi querida Tierrina, aunque también no sabían muy bien como lo tenían que hacer, así que también yo les enseñé hacer tal cosa, ya que los subí hasta la misma cumbre del Puertu Payares, y siempre han respetado mis pintadas lo mismo que yo he respetado las de ellos. Yo siempre pensé, que si en vez de hacer todo mi costoso e increíble trabajo en solitario y en la más humilde pobreza, hubiese contado con la ayuda de ellos, no me refiero a pesetas porque no creo que tuviesen muchas, sino al número de personas jóvenes que tenían, no quiero pensar lo que hubiese pasado, pues seria muy capaz de fomentar si preciso fuera, hasta una sangrienta revolución en la defensa de las Tradiciones y Ancestral Cultura de Asturias, que en definitiva es siempre la sabia nueva que alimenta la Justicia y Libertad de los Pueblos, ya que en las Raíces está la poderosa fuerza, que alumbra los frutos de la inteligencia Humana, un Pueblo sin Raíces, es como una patria sin bandera o una religión sin dios.
