Для уточнения характера, субъекта, цели сгибания глагол to bend требует уточняющих сочетаний, как например: to bend down - наклоняться, to bend over smb, smth - склоняться над чем-либо, кем-либо. Для конкретизации действия сгибания используется ряд других глаголов, в значение которых включен компонент, указывающий на то, как, кем или для чего это действие произведено.
