¿To see, to watch o to look?
A menudo se usa con can o could: I can see the mountains from my bedroom. Puedo ver las montañas desde mi dormitorio.
To look at implica una acción deliberada: I saw an old atlas, so I opened it and looked at the maps.
I watched the planes in the sky with great interest. Igualmente puede indicar el paso del tiempo (we watched the animals playing for half an hour, durante media hora observamos cómo jugaban los animales), movimiento (they stood there watching the cars drive off into the distance, se quedaron allí de pie viendo cómo se marchaban los coches) o vigilancia (the policemen have been watching this house because they thought we were thieves, los policías estaban vigilando la casa porque pensaban que éramos ladrones).
Para hablar de películas u obras de teatro usamos to see: Have you seen Hamlet?, ¿Has visto Hamlet? To watch se refiere a la televisión y los deportes en general: I always watch the television in the evening. Siempre veo la televisión por las noches. I like to watch football. Me gusta ver el fútbol. Al hablar de programas o partidos específicos podemos usar tanto to watch como to see: I like to see/watch the news at 9:00. Me gusta ver las noticias a las 9.00. Did you see/watch the match last night?, ¿Viste el partido anoche?

Did you see/watch the match last night?, ¿Viste el partido anoche? гл.1. to beat; 2. to strike; 3. to hit; 4. to tap; 5. to pat; 6. to rap; 7. to punch; 8. to thump; 9. to slap; 10. to knock; 11. to knock smb about/ around; 12. to club; 13. to kick; 14. to lash; 15. to pound; 16. to smackРусский глагол бить указывает на многократный характер действия, но не конкретизирует как, чем и по отношению к кому или чему было произведено это действие. Кроме этого английские глаголы указывают и на то, как и чем наносятся удары.1. to beat — бить, биться, колотить, ударять, избить (подчеркивается многократность действия; разный характер ударов в русском языке может передаваться разными приставками, как, например, побить, избить и распространенными словосочетаниями; в английском языке в таких случаях используются послелоги или другие глаголы): to beat a carpet — выколачивать ковер; to beat a rug — вытряхивать половик; to beat the dust out of the rug — выбивать пыль из ковра; to beat a drum — бить в барабан; to beat time — отбивать такт; to beat eggs — взбивать яйца; to beat meat — отбивать мясо; to beat smb (up) — бить кого-либо/избивать кого-либо; to beat smb cruelly (to death) — жестоко (до смерти) избить кого-либо; to beat smb with a stick — избивать кого-либо палкой/бить кого-либо папкой; to beat smb for stealing (for lying) — побить кого-либо за воровство (за вранье); one's heart beats — сердце бьется.
