22 pay grade
"A compensation level structure that defines discrete ranges of pay per level, and are generally defined by hierarchical levels of authority within a company. Jobs are typically evaluated by a point system that places them at a grade relative to others within the company. Pay rates for a grade are typically determined by using equivalent groups of jobs in the marketplace as benchmarks. Graded structures are narrower than bands, and are typically discrete (for example, pay ranges do not overlap). Grade pay ranges have a fixed minimum, midpoint (or control point), and maximum reference points. Compa-ratios and range utilization are measures used to analyze an employee’s pay relative to their range. Companies can set additional reference points for a grade, such as 25th and 75th percentile, and base variable compensation on one of those points." -

❢ This much-used verb has no multi-purpose equivalent in French and therefore is very often translated by choosing a synonym: to get lunch = to prepare lunch = préparer le déjeuner. get is used in many idiomatic expressions ( to get something off one's chest etc) and translations will be found in the appropriate entry (chest etc). This is also true of offensive comments ( get stuffed etc) where the appropriate entry would be stuff. Remember that when get is used to express the idea that a job is done not by you but by somebody else ( to get a room painted etc) faire is used in French followed by an infinitive ( faire repeindre une pièce etc). When get has the meaning of become and is followed by an adjective (to get rich/drunk etc) devenir is sometimes useful but check the appropriate entry (rich, drunk etc) as a single verb often suffices ( s'enrichir, s'enivrer etc). Sur cette carte sont inscrits les mots do not pass go, do not collect £200 (ou bien do not collect $200 s'il s'agit de la version américaine). Cette phrase, dont la version française est "ne passez pas par la case départ, ne recevez pas 20 000 francs", est utilisée de façon allusive et sur le mode humoristique dans différents contextes: on dira par exemple you do that again and you're going straight to jail, Bill. Do not pass go, do not collect $200 ("refais ça, Bill, et je t'assure que tu iras droit en prison). -

40 loyalty scheme
Mktga sales promotion technique used to encourage customers to continue buying a product or using an organization’s services. It works by rewarding customers who spend more and/or stay longer with an organization. Examples include a shopper card that gives discounts on purchases over a period of time. There are several other loyalty scheme approaches: points systems—which give points to customers based on what they purchase; premium customer programs—where customers who spend certain amounts of money and are repeat purchasers gain special status and receive benefits such as discounts, exclusive offers, and gifts; buyers’ clubs—where a certain number of customers can club together to buy a particular product, at a special volume discount. If implementing a loyalty scheme, it is important to remember that it must be there for the long term, and the level of incentive must be right. Offering too much will hurt your profits; offering too little will not attract members. Customers also need to be able to check up on their status easily—to see, for example, how many points they have currently accumulated.
