de entre los libros exlibris.◘ 'Sello que se estampa en un libro para hacer constar el nombre de su propietario'. Este sustantivo masculino procede de la locución latina ex libris(literalmente 'de (entre) los libros'), que solía escribirse en el libro seguida del nombre del propietario, para indicar que ese ejemplar era "de los libros de Fulano de Tal". Como locución, debe escribirse en dos palabras, pero para el sustantivo se recomienda la grafía simple exlibris (como ocurre con exvoto o exabrupto, otros sustantivos procedentes de locuciones latinas): " Hasta me encargué un bonito exlibris para recalcar mi posesión" ( Mundo [Esp.] 20.4.96). No obstante, también se admite la escritura en dos palabras: " Algunos de los ejemplares [...] poseen el ex libris manuscrito de su poseedor" (Trabulse Orígenes [Méx. 1994]).
