Кривая спроса
Линия, отображающая зависимость между ценой продукта или фактора производства и величиной спроса на него за определенный период времени. Рассмотрим график. Типичная  кривая  спроса  представляет  собой  нисходящую линию,  изогнутую вправо.  Направление  кривой  указывает  на то, что по мере снижения цены спрос увеличивается. Если цена упадет с OP1 до OP2, величина спроса увеличится с OQ1 до OQ2. Нисходящее направление кривых спроса объясняется тем, что, во-первых, при снижении цены на товар покупатели склонны заменять им другие товары (т.е. покупать больше дешевых товаров - эффект замещения), а во-вторых, падение цены способствует росту реального дохода потребителей, повышая их покупательную способность (эффект дохода). В редких случаях кривая спроса имеет восходящее направление (см. Upward-sloping demand curve). Крутизна наклона кривой спроса показывает степень реагирования величины спроса на изменение цены: если значительное снижение цены приводит лишь к небольшому увеличению величины спроса, кривая имеет крутой наклон. В этом случае говорят, что спрос неэластичен относительно цены (см. Price elasticity of demand). См. Demand function, Demand curve (shift in).

Типичная  кривая  предложения  представляет  собой  восходящую линию, изогнутую влево. Направление кривой свидетельствует о том, что по мере роста цены на продукт, его предложение увеличивается. Таким образом, если цена вырастет с OP1 до OP2, предложение увеличится с OQ1 до OQ2. Восходящее направление кривой обусловлено тем, что по мере роста цены производителям выгодно расширять производство на основе имеющихся производственных мощностей. Они исходят из того, что рост краткосрочных предельных издержек, сопряженных  с ростом производства, покроется за счет более высоких цен. Наклон кривой предложения отражает степень реакции предложения на изменение цены. Так, если значительный рост цены приводит лишь к небольшому увеличению предложения  (в этом случае кривая предложения имела бы крутой наклон), говорят, что  предложение неэластично относительно цены (см. Price-elasticity of supply). В точке пересечения кривой предложения и кривой спроса устанавливается равновесная рыночная цена (см. Equilibrium market price). См.
