•USAGE:(1.) Русскому наречию сначала соответствуют наречие first 1. и сочетание at first. Наречие first указывает на начало ряда действий и на их последовательность и означает, прежде всего, первым делом: first read the instructions and only then start doing the exercise сначала прочти инструкцию и лишь потом принимайся за упражнение; we went home first сначала мы пошли домой. Русское наречие "сначала" в значении "первое время" соответствует английскому at first. Оно указывает на временной разрыв между описываемыми действиями и подразумевает противопоставление этих действий, их различие: at first we disliked him but later on we realized what a good friend he was сначала он нам не понравился, но позднее мы поняли, какой он хороший друг.
