Внешнее устройство, одеваемое на палец и предназначенное для выполнения финансовых операций.
Кольцо с микропроцессором является альтернативой использования платежной карточки. Каждое кольцо имеет 64-разрядный номер, который зашит в память. Это обеспечивает высокий уровень защиты, определяемый стандартом ассоциации банков США. Стоимость кольца значительно ниже платежной карточки.
Микропроцессор и Интегральная Схема (ИС) памяти помещаются в корпус кольца, изготовленного из нержавеющей стали. Металлическая оправа служит проводником, замыкающим электрическую цепь при одномоментном касании кольца с контактом считывающего устройства абонентской системы. Это позволяет при одномоментном касании передавать данные с кольца и, наоборот, записывать на него информацию. Объем памяти кольца обычно равен 64 Кбит.
