Ñubeiru, el Ñubeiru es uno de los personajes mitológicos de nuestra Tierrina, se relaciona casi exclusivamente con el mes de la hierba (Julio), del ñubeiru yo he oído algunas pequeñas historias. Dicen que es enemigo de los segadores porque siegan los prados de las floridas hierbas que forman el jardín de Asturias, por esta razón él casi siempre se enoja, se entristece y llora, siendo sus lágrimas tan copiosas que forman las tormentas de los veranos que tanto perjudican cuando se está curandu la yerbe. El ñubeiru vive en las entrañas de la tierra, y en los días calurosos, cuando los prados están segados y la hierba se está curando, es cuando el Ñubeiru algunas veces se enfada, y entonces sale de la tierra en forma de pequeños remolinos de viento y así muy pronto forma los truenos, las centellas y las tormentas, que dejan caer sobre la tierra sus grandes y cálidas lágrimas, formando torrenciales de lluvias. —Existen muchos dichos sobre el Ñubeiru, pero yo tan sólo les contare el siguiente. —El anu qu'el Ñubeiru chora, les vaques rumien les yerbes prietes, ya les prexones ruquen bona borona.
