Axarduscar, es depositar en el «xardu» las castañas para que con el calor y los humos que se escapan del fuego del lar, se consiga que estas castañas se tornen en mayucas (duras). Una vez que las castañas ya están bien axarduscáes (bien secas) con el pelleyu (pellejo) crujiente, es entonces cuando se bajan del xardu por un pequeño bocairún (ventano) que el xardu tiene, y s’abazcuchan (se vierten) en la goxa (cesta), donde con un mayu (majón) de madera se majan, hasta deshacerlas casi en polvo sus pellejos, después llega la operación de banayas (banarlas) y una vez efectuado este trabajo, quedan las castañas blancas y limpias del tecu (que es el residuo de los pellejos y de las castañas podridas, machacadas hasta haberse convertido en un polvo, y seca pulpa que se llama el tecu). Este tecu no tiene más aplicación que el pudrirse en las caleyas y'esfaese 'n bun cuchu, (callejas haciéndose en un buen abono). Un escritor de Bable famoso de nuexa Tierrina, a pesar que su vocabulario no llegaba a la veintena de palabras de la ancestral Lengua Asturiana, escribió una vez en cierta narración dándoselas de entendido, que con el tecu ou tescu, se industriaban excelentes piensos para las caballerías. Aquel buen hombre, no tenía ni puñetera idea de lo que decía, v no solamente él, sino más del noventa y nueve por ciento de cuantos escritores trataron la melguera lengua asturiana, que bien por su posición social, o por cualquier otra industria avalados, sembraron en mi Tierra una discordia equívoca, apartando a las gentes del camino verdadero de nuestras costumbres y lengua.
