f"Бавария", в Мюнхене, монументальная скульптура перед Залом славы, олицетворяет покровительницу Баварии. Статуя женской фигуры (высотой 18,1 м, вместе с цоколем около 30 м). Создана в 1844-1850 гг. по поручению баварского короля Людвига I. (Ludwig I. König von Bayern, 1786-1868). Скульптор Людвиг фон Шванталер. Бавария представлена в образе древнегерманской героини. Длинное, в складках, одеяние, грудь прикрывает звериная шкура, волосы свободно откинуты на спину, голова украшена дубовыми листьями. В поднятой левой руке она держит венок из дубовых листьев, в правой меч. Внутри статуи находится смотровая площадка, к которой ведут 130 ступеней. "Бавария" была торжественно освящена во время грандиозного празднества в 1850 г. Композиция включает также символ могущества – скульптуру льва.
