Олигополия
Рыночная структура, характеризующаяся а) наличием нескольких производителей и множества покупателей; б) производством однородной или дифференцированной продукции; в) существенными препятствиями на пути вступления в отрасль. Особенностью рынка нескольких фирм-производителей является взаимозависимость их решений. Каждая фирма, определяя цену на свою продукцию, должна учитывать возможную ответную реакцию со стороны своих конкурентов. Следовательно, олигополистические фирмы стараются избегать ценовой конкуренции, используя разные способы согласования цен - лидерство в ценах, картели и др. (см. Collusion). Фирмы конкурируют между собой в области дифференциации продукции, которая дает им возможность получить долговременные преимущества перед другими фирмами (см. Product differentiation). В традиционной теории рынка говорится, что олигополистическая модель рынка схожа с монополистической и приводит к неэффективному функционированию рынка. В частности, объем производства олигополиста ограничивается уровнем, лежащим на графике ниже точки наименьших издержек. Фирмы избегают ценовой конкуренции, а неценовая конкуренция способствует росту издержек производства. Цены устанавливаются выше уровня минимальных издержек, что обеспечивает олигополисту получение сверхприбыли. Проникновение в отрасль других фирм затруднено. Как и в случае с монополией, однако, статический анализ не учитывает эффекта масштаба, а также значение конкуренции в процессе разработки новых технологий и новой продукции. См.
