(Pródromo)El alfabeto utilizado en el presente diccionario es el aceptado oficialmente por las diversas instituciones (tanto de categoría nacional como las de nivel local, estatal o particular) interesadas en la práctica, enseñanza y difusión del idioma maya yucateco, según acuerdo celebrado (en 1984) entre ellas.Pensando en los lectores (que tal vez conozcan alguno o algunos de los diferentes alfabetos tradicionales) daremos una somera explicación de las letras que lo constituyen, tanto en lo que respecta a las consonantes como a las vocales.Desde el momento del contacto entre las dos culturas protagónicas (la maya, del recién "encontrado" o "descubierto" continente americano y la europea, en su modalidad española) quedó de manifiesto que sus logros ideológicos y culturales eran plasmados gráficamente, tanto en la una como en la otra en dos diferentes tipos de "escritura"; una era la de los glifos o sea complejas pictografías de contenido esotérico y ceremonial, destinada para el consumo y uso exclusivo de una élite muy sofisticada, que por medio de este sistema de "mensajes sagrados" crípticos, mantenía el control sociopolítico y religioso sobre las masas populares (desde siempre ágrafas) y otra, era la escritura compuesta de letras conocidas como "latinas", que en aquella época era practicada también por círculos elitísticos (más o menos cerrados) de las cortes europeas y con mayor dedicación y constancia en los monasterios y centros religiosos fieles o no, a la jerarquía romana, que, aunque también servía para plasmar los intereses imperiales, tanto mundanos como divinos, fue poco a poco difundiéndose por diversas razones histórico políticas, a medida que los intereses económicos de Europa fueron extendiéndose por los otros continentes del planetaAsí pues, la escritura con caracteres "latinos" fue imponiéndose paulatinamente por todos lados, principalmente donde no existían otros sistemas oficiales (bien arraigados en las comunidades respectivas) de transmisión de conocimientos en forma gráfica, como en el continente asiático donde las antiguas culturas musulmanas, budistas, hinduístas y chinas han defendido y mantenido sus respectivosalfabetos.En América, particularmente en el área mesoamericana ocupada por los diferentes grupos mayances, los conquistadores españoles y sus aliados los frailes (de diversas denominaciones regulares) trataron de "inventar" alfabetos para hacer "borrón y cuenta nueva" respecto a los muy complicados y misteriosos sistemas indígenas, que, por otra parte, constituían la parte medular del mantenimiento y desarrollo de la estructura ideológica que intentaban destruir. Diversos alfabetos fueron elaborados por los nuevos "maestros", que así, en forma directa y objetiva, se iban posesionando de los cuerpos y de las almas de los nativos de aquel "Nuevo Mundo"En forma esquemática pondremos en el "cuadro de referencia" que se expondrá más abajo, las diversas grafías creadas para las consonantes, ya que para las vocales, aunque los sabios europeos consideraron a las llamadas: a) vocales cortas o "simples" o sea las breves, representadas por una letra vocálica; b) vocales largas (repetidas) y posiblemente también tuvieron en cuenta a las c) vocales rearticuladas (con cierre glotal), pero por la dificultad en el manejo de los signos de puntuación, por la "aparente ignorancia" de sus informantes nativos o porque realmente no se captaron las múltiples sutilezas del discurso (tales como el uso de los tonos) no se tiene actualmente una seguridad absoluta respecto a esta importante parte de la lengua, y así, las vocales siempre fueron reproducidas gráficamente de acuerdo al amanuense o al receptor (casi siempre un español acostumbrado a las pautas y prolegómenos lingüísticos del castellano del siglo XVI, XVII o XVIII, según hubiera sido el caso. -

Porque el maíz en mis dulces encantadoras aldeinas, era todavía más importarte que el mismo pan de escanda. Con la rubia y fina harina de maíz, se hacían las papillas por la mañana y a la noche, que se comían con leche caliente que en el momento había sido ordeñada, y dejaban a las gentes hartas, eruptando de satisfechas, en el acaecer que sus vidas se deslizaban felices y contentas. —Con las fregaduras y restos que de las papillas que quedaban en los platos y demás recipientes, se hacían también buenas y nutritivas comidas para los cerdos. Y el pan de maíz bien hecho, era según mí parecer mucho mejor que el mismo pan de la artesa. También afirmo, y siempre según mi humilde parecer, que el maíz era en mis queridas aldeinas todo un pequeño dios, que no permitía que el hambre visitare sus muy Queridos y ancestrales hogares. —Hoy en día ya no se hacen las esfoyazas como en los tiempos pasados, entonces las esfoyazas se realizaban por las noches, una noche en la casa de un vecino, otra noche en la casa de otro, y eran aquellas encantadoras veladas del trabajo de la esfuétcha, pequeñas y dulces fiestiquinas, llenas de encantadoras alegrías, dónde en el hacer que se deshojaban las rubias y benditas panojinas, las gentes de mis aldeas hermanadas y felices, sonrientes y sin ningún perjuicio, porque eran naturales y nobles sencillas, y formadas en las mismas raíces y ancestros de Nuestra Embrujadora Asturias. Dígoles yo ahora que aquellas mis gentes llenas de una sana alegría, se contaban cuentos, historias y otras muchas cosas, así como de vez en cuando se lanzaban algunas sátiras que no les fueran muy enojosas, y todo esto lo hacían al son del ruido de las hojas de las mazorcas, mientras que con rapidez las deshojaban. —Todos en cuadrilla desinteresada hacíamos corro al montón de mazorcas, del que íbamos cogiendo sin escoger las panojas, las que eran buenas para enrestrarlas, les dejábamos las hojas bien juntas, mientras que los relucientes granos quedándose desnudos, tal parecía que nos estaban alumbrando las venideras harturas que nos iban hacer eruptar de satisfechos. —Y las otras mazorcas que eran más ruinas de hojas o de granos, les arrancábamos del todo todas sus hojas, y las convertíamos en las llamadas panojas de rabuco. Las pequeñas mazorcas verdes y a medio granar, las echábamos en un rincón o cesto, y servían como nutritivo pienso para las vacas paridas, y hasta los mismos cerdos por ellas se alegraban. Las hojas con su leño también se aprovechaban para mullir a los ganados, menos a los cerdos, pues estos no les sentaba bien que se les mullera con las hojas de las panojas si éstas no estaban bien secas, por causa de que los buenos cerdos, tienen el pellejo muy fino y lustroso, y no se puede negar que existen muchos cerdos, que son más elegantes y más finos, que muchas personas de las que yo conozco. —Las sanas y buenas hojas de las panojas que no tuviesen ningún pequeño leño se echaban dentro de unos grandes cestos, para después subirlas al desván, y esparcirlas para que se secasen bien, pues luego servían para hacer los jergones donde las gentes dormían y descansaban muy calentinas y felices. —Todo cuanto alumbra el maíz es de buen provecho, pues hasta las negras o rubias barbas de las panojas, me recuerdo que bien hervidas daban un caldo, que era milagrosa medicina para exterminar los infinitos piojos que nos arropaban. —No morirán las Ancestrales Costumbres de mi Querida Tierrina, ni podrán mistificarlas este conjunto de asquerosos babosos, como son los dirigentes del Conceyu Bable y todavía hablo peor de los Amigos del Bable, pues estos plagistas de perros falderos, tanto los unos como los otros, con la ayuda que desde sus comienzos les han prestado algunos periodistas y demás medios de comunicación, que apartando a unos pocos que si saben donde se encuentra la verdad, pero que nunca la han defendido, digo que toda esta camarilla de gilipollas, no podrán jamás equivocar ni menos enredar a las inteligentes gentes asturianas aunque hasta hoy no han demostrado lo contrario, yo sé que a no mucho tardar sabrán poner en el estercolero que les corresponde a todo este estiércol de payasos de noche oscura. —Y si esto no sucediese, aquí estoy yo para hablar en defensa de las naturales y ancestrales cosas de mi Tierrina, que no son otros hechos que nuestro más puro "Ancestro". Negro prieto. los erús no forman una raza, porque no hay raza según han demostrado no pocos antropólogos; forman un grupo humano que tiene un modo cultural de vivir, como cualquier otro grupo humano tiene el suyo. Los erús o negros no son ninguna clase de gentes de "raza pura", según han creído y creen muchas gentes que no han actualizado sus conocimientos antropológicos. Nadie sabe de dónde exactamente es originario el hombre negro. Se le encuentra desde épocas remotísimas en el continente sin frío que eso quisieron decir los griegos con el nombre "Africa". En ese vasto territorio de 11.500,000 millas cuadradas o 29.78345 kilómetros cuadrados, se encuentran muchos pueblos y culturas que no son exactamente de negros, aunque es indudable que con ellos se mestizaron tanto, que la mentalidad de los bárbaros o extranjeros no pudo notar las diferencias y semejanzas y a todos los llamó negros, debiendo decir "africanos". Ser negro, o tener de negro en la herencia biológica o cultural, no es en modo alguno un defecto o minusvalía (el prejuicio sí es un defecto y una minusvalía). No es un defecto ni una minusvalía ser o tener de negros o sudaneses, porque ellos son tan seres humanos como cualquier otro grupo que hable con sonidos, agarre con las manos, camine derecho, con y sobre los pies, produzca pensamientos lógicos con el cerebro, corrija sus errores y tenga autopercepciones. Los negros, sus descendientes o ascendientes, aparecen en todo el sureste asiático, en India, en el Viejo Egipto, Mesopotamia y Caldea, en el poblamiento primitivo de Europa y últimamente en América, desde el sur de Norte América hasta Venezuela, comprendiendo todas las Antillas. Esto es lo que se llama el Fajón Negro de América; Cuba está de lleno en él, y todos los cubanos algo tenemos de esa nigricia del Fajón. Además del "erú" y del "eña dudu", se mencionan al "eña kukuá" o "negro colorado" y al "yebú" o negro colorado de pelo amarillo o rojizo con ojos pardos o claros. En estos cuatro tipos, el cabello es "gré gré". Con esa voz, nos informan, dicen los lucumíes guerefé. "pelo duro, propio de los erú". El cabello o "irú gregré", es corto, duro, grueso, ensortijado, abundante o escaso, de color negro mate, rubianco, rubio o rojizo como en los yebú, pueblo que trajeron a Cuba. El mestizaje de los pueblos clareados y rubicundos con los pueblos negros tiende hacia una disminución del pigmento melanínico en la descendencia, pero siempre queda "un algo" visible a simple ojeada, que anuncia el antecedente negroide del portador de los caracteres, independiente de que lo sepa o no, que lo oculte o le sea indiferente, que se ofenda o que comprenda que eso no lo demerita, etc... Ese algo visible está muy parlante en el "kukunkukú" (mulato prieto), en el "ákuamádé" (pardo adelantado), en el "dukundukú" (mulato definido) y en los distintos tipos de blanconazos. En cuanto al dukundukú o mulato definido, está repesentando el punto fronterizo entre el "erú y el oibó irú eni. El "dukundukú finalí" es el mulato chino, producto del cruzamiento de la africana erú con chinos. Hay que distinguir entre el achinamiento del negro y el del chino. Este tipo abunda en Cuba y tiene hasta en el comportamiento, características que lo señalan. Últimamente se nota el auge del cruzamiento de blanca cubana con chinos de nación, trayendo un nuevo tipo. A partir del "dukundukú" tenemos el "adabamá" o "mulato que pasa por blanco". Este tipo es abundantísimo. Tiene muchas variantes. En las estadísticas demográficas es, como en la vida social, "un mulato indefinido situado junto a los blancos", que lo son por europeos próximos a los pueblos rubios, velludos, rosados y narigudos. La concurrencia demográfica que tuvo lugar en toda América. y en escecial en Cuba, produjo una inmensa variedad de tipos, no estudiados a profundidad y extensión.
