Así que ahora es sustituida por la j.La letra r, aunque no constituye fonema propio de la lengua maya de Yucatán se encuentra actualmente en muchos giros lingüísticos prestados del español, por lo que quedó incluída.La w es letra española muy antigua y es grafía idónea para representar a la semiconsonante maya y además esta grafía tiene el mismo valor en el alfabeto fonético internacional empleado para muchas lenguas del mundo.La y, equivalente de ll en español, posee igual que la segunda, un mismo valor fonético y tiene la ventaja de representar el mismo valor en el alfabeto fonético internacional.La lengua maya posee el fonema oclusivo velar sordo al igual que la lengua castellana. En apoyo a esto, diremos que en su carácter simple es utilizada por la mayoría de las lenguas que emplean el alfabeto "latino" para representar la misma articulación. Entafarnada (llena) de estiércol la Agapita, y acolmenadu su cerebro con tan macabras intenciones que de contentura le hacían sonreir al diablo, asió con celeridad un rátchun (rastrillo de madera) y dio tan grande mazazo encima de la cabeza del furuxu (furioso) Luis, que éste no pudo ver nada más que una procesión de estrellas que adormecían atropelladamente su cerebro. Al caerse en grotesca postura el desventurado Luis y manar de su cabeza un escandaloso reguero de sangre, detuviéronse los encendidos y asesinos ánimos de la Agapita, y en su lugar, alumbrose la humana condolencia, conducida por una pena que hasta el miedo la arrastraba, y navegante ya en el tenebroso suplicio de saberse dueña del delito que había cometido, sus ojos dieron comienzo a un caudaloso río de lágrimas, y de su garganta entrecortadas por los suspiros, brotaron estas lamentosas y condolientes palabras: ¡Ay má d’el miou alma, que fó lu que fixe, qu’achuquinéi ‘sti home. ¿Quéi cuntu a les xentes cundu tóes xunies sen faeme deximes queran confundime? Niaór ou niador, así se llama al lugar donde la gallina pone sus huevos, que puede ser un cajón o cualquier otro lugar relleno con hierba. También se llama niaór al huevo bien de madera o natural que por regla general ya está podrido, que se deja dentro del niaór para incitar a las gallinas a que pongan más rápido el huevo. En los tiempos pasados en la mayor parte de los hogares de mis aldinas, un huevo era un alimento tan sumamente fino y de lujo, que sólo lo comían las personas enfermas, y todo porque la necesidad tenía su miserable reino en casi todos los lugares, así era que las mujeres juntaban los huevos que sus gallinas ponían durante toda las semanas para llevarlos al mercado junto con la manteca y otros productos como los cuayáus el queíxu, etc., con el fin de poder reunir el dinero para mercar lus enréus (cosas necesarias en sumo para el hogar), como podían ser la sal, el pimiento, un poco aceite para hacer lus rustíus al pote (para echarle la grasa con sus sofritos al puchero), un poco de café, malte, chicoria, azúcar, etc. Así como comprar alguna prenda que fuese del todo necesaria de ropa interior, etc. Yo me recuerdo que los días de mercado eran los lunes, así pues casi al amanecer algunas mujeres más necesitadas de mi aldina, cuando el día despuntaban ya estaban dentro de su gallinero asiendo a las gallinas ponedoras y metiéndoles el dedo en el trasero con el fin de comprobar si tratan el huevo, aquella que le trajese, su dueña untaba el dedo con un poco de pimiento de lo más picante y se lo volvía a introducir en el trasero de la gallina con el fin de que pusiera el huevo pronto para poder llevarle al mareado.Primer Diccionario Enciclopédicu de la Llingua Asturiana > niaór
