1904-1989Nacido en Tacoma, Washington, empieza como ayudante de direccion en los albores del cine sonoro, y a mediados de la decada de los 40 se convierte en un director que, con el tiempo, resultara ser muy prolifico y razonablemente vulgar. 1912-1991Nacido en Chicago y graduado en el Jesus College, Cambridge, encuentra trabajo en la biblioteca del film de Warner Bros, donde se inicia en tareas de montaje. En una filmografia riquisima, llena de aciertos, destacan, a mi juicio, dos peliculas bien alejadas en el tiempo; por una parte, la mitica La invasion de los ladrones de cuerpos (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 1956), no estrenada comercialmente en Espana en su momento, pero bien conocida a traves de la pequena pantalla, perteneciente al genero fantastico, cuyo “mensaje” progresista esta muy lejos de la habitual soflama. La segunda, un filme atipico que podria no ser considerado como un western, pero que en decision personal he decidido incluir aqui, aunque solo sea por su localizacion temporal, la de la Guerra de Secesion norteamericana, es El seductor (The Beguiled, 1971), introspectiva y cruel como pocas peliculas pueden llegar a serlo. Con mas motivo aun, puede resultar extrano considerar que La jungla humana sea un western. Se da cuando un consumidor adquiere un producto y acto seguido se cuestiona si realmente necesitaba ese bien. Es un estado de conflicto psicológico que padece una persona al existir un conflicto entre sus acciones y sus creencias.La disonancia cognitiva es una situación de desequilibrio, incoherencia, entre al menos dos cogniciones. La disonancia genera un estado de tensión desagradable por lo que tendemos a buscar la coherencia, la consonancia cognitiva. En el caso del consumidor que presenta su definición, no es solamente por recibir un producto o servicio por debajo de sus expectativas, esto sería un ejemplo incompleto.
