Гигантский невидимый монстр снова прорывается к кораблю, хотя теперь по периметру выставлено заграждение. Он убивает рабочего, и землянам удается увидеть его, пустив в ход дезинтеграторы. Твари, порожденные их бессознательным, перебили их за одну ночь. Достигнув их интеллектуального уровня, Морбиус стал во всем похож на них. Затем, Робби оказался 1-м знаменитым роботом в научно-фантастическом кино и стал своеобразной легендой жанра. Годом позже он вернулся на экраны уже как главный герой другого фильма продюсера Николаса Нэйфэка Мальчик-невидимка, The Invisible Boy, 1957, Херман Хоффмен. Его безупречное послушание, не лишенное некоторой спеси, его неисчерпаемые таланты и мирный характер (он запрограммирован так, чтобы никогда не причинять вреда человеку) делают из него некое усовершенствованное подобие английского дворецкого в межгалактических просторах. Самая интересная идея фильма - даже при том, что ее визуальное воплощение оставляет желать лучшего, - конечно же, чудовище, рожденное подсознанием крелов как следствие их очень высокого интеллектуального уровня. Этот удивительный «чужой» доказывает, что все самые недавние достижения современной научной фантастики (см. Отродье, The Brood) находились в зародыше (а иногда и в более развитом состоянии) уже в 1-х заметных фильмах этого жанра.
