Первоначально выступала за сокращения ядерных вооружений и прекращение их испытаний в атмосфере, после 1963 - за ратификацию договора о запрещении ядерных испытаний; перешла в открытую оппозицию к власти в 1967. В 1969 переименована в Организацию граждан за разумный мир [SANE: A Citizens' Organization for a Sane World]. В 70-80-е выступала против гонки вооружений [arms race]. В 1987 слилась с пацифистской организацией "Фриз" [Freeze], образовав "СЕЙН/ФРИЗ: кампания за глобальную безопасность" [SANE/FREEZE: Campaign for Global Security].
