занятость
Показатель, характеризующий степень участия трудоспособного населения в общественном труде. В России к занятому населению относятся: работающие по найму за вознаграждение в течение полного или неполного рабочего дня (недели), в том числе временно отсутствующие в связи с болезнью, отпуском или забастовкой, а также самостоятельно обеспечивающие себя работой (предприниматели, члены кооперативов и т.п.), военнослужащие и некоторые другие категории граждан. Занятость в некотором смысле противоположна безработице: при прочих равных условиях, чем последняя выше, тем ниже занятость. Повышение занятости обеспечивается созданием новых рабочих мест. Здесь действует мультипликатор занятости [employment multiplier] - коэффициент, показывающий, на сколько возрастет совокупная занятость при создании одного рабочего места в определенной отрасли. Например, если для отрасли мультипликатор равен 2,5, то прием на одно из ее предприятий двух дополнительных рабочих увеличит общую занятость (например, в городе, регионе) на пять человек. Таким образом, использование мультипликатора занятости позволяет при борьбе с безработицей выбирать точки наиболее эффективного приложения средств, направляемых на создание новых рабочих мест.
