21 to lose one's rag
Разозлиться. Это может быть видоизменённое выражение из морского сленга lose the cloth («избавиться от скатерти»). Раньше, если капитан небольшого корабля был настолько недоволен своими офицерами или экипажем в целом, что был готов высадить их с корабля при первой же возможности, то так называемый «морской закон» гласил, что он должен убрать скатерть с обеденного стола три раза, тем самым сообщая о своих намерениях. Так как горячий обед подавался только раз в день, это было равносильно трёхдневному объявлению об увольнении.
