основной рыночный индекс Американской фондовой биржи, представляющий собой среднее взвешенное значение цен 20 ведущих промышленных акций, зарегистрированных и котируемых на Нью-Йоркской фондовой бирже, 17 из которых включены в промышленный индекс Доу Джонса (см. DJIA). Индекс следует аналогу DJIA в создании тенденции движения цен ведущих промышленных акций. В данном фондовом индексе акции с более высокой ценой эмиссии оказывают большее воздействие, чем акции с более низким номиналом. Индекс рассчитывается в режиме реального времени, т.е., по мере изменения цен акций. Сделки по срочным контрактам на данный индекс заключаются на Чикагской срочной товарной бирже (см. Рассчитывается с каждым изменением цены на любую из акций. Торги по фьючерсам и опционам проходят на Швейцарской бирже финансовых фьючерсов и опционов (SOFFEX).
