L’étude de marché qu’il conduit au printemps 1994 l’a convaincu du fait que les livres sont les meilleurs produits à vendre sur l’internet. Amazon.com débute avec dix salariés et trois millions d’articles, et devient vite une référence mondiale du commerce en ligne.
