Он значительно улучшил материал, насытив повествование мелкими событиями, многозначительными деталями, сделав его очень тонким и компактным и при этом избавив от ненужного драматизма. Красота Непонятого не только в конструкции и в точности наблюдений, но и в цветовой палитре и пейзажах.
