En 1962 debuta en el cine, pero obtiene su primer verdadero triunfo en 1969 con el que sera su unico western, Dos hombres y un destino, uno de los hitos de la decada. En los oidos de todos los espectadores resuenan todavia los ecos del exito de la tramposa The Sting (El golpe, 1973), el mas clamoroso que jamas alcanzo George Roy Hill, aunque el de Dos hombres y un destino casi se le puede comparar. Sin duda, en ambos casos influyo la singular quimica desprendida por la pareja protagonista, formada por Paul New man y Robert Red ford. Realizador brillante, de esos que aparentan mas de lo que son, no cabe duda de que su vision romantica del salvaje oeste supuso una revitalizacion del mismo, aunque a esta se le pueda achacar cierta superficialidad.Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Dos hombres y un destino). 1969. 110 minutos.
