Nota d'usoI sostantivi come jury sono chiamati collettivi perché indicano un gruppo di persone. In inglese possono essere seguiti dal verbo al singolare o al plurale, a seconda del contesto. In generale, se si pensa al sostantivo in modo impersonale, si sceglie il singolare: The jury is made up of 12 members of the public, la giuria è composta da 12 membri del pubblico. Se invece si pensa alle singole persone che fanno cose diverse all'interno del gruppo, si sceglie il plurale: The jury have reached their decision, la giuria è arrivata alla propria decisione.
