Xardu, lugar situado encima del lar, haciendo piso a nivel del desván, es en definitiva un cajón de tres metros cuadrados aproximadamente, los hay más grandes y también más pequeños depende en la teixá que se encuentren, de todas las maneras en todas las teixáes astures que tienen castañedos, también tienen, o mejor dicho tenían xardu, tengan presente ustedes que yo siempre me estoy refiriendo a los tiempus d'endenantes. TRADUCCIÓN.—Del Xardu se pueden decir muchísimas cosas y todas ellas muy importantes, alumbradas todas ellas por el vivir de las gentes de cada día, y esto es así, porque el xardu es sin ninguna duda el techo o cielo del lar, por así decir, ya que el lar, es sin ningún impedimento la misma entraña de las gentes de la casa.
