(1920-1996) Колби, Уильям ИганГосударственный деятель, дипломат. Получил образование в Принстонском университете [ Princeton University] (1940), диплом юриста - в Колумбийском университете [ Columbia University]. Во время второй мировой войны служил в Управлении стратегических служб [ Office of Strategic Services], в 1944 возглавлял диверсионный отряд парашютистов, высадившийся в оккупированной немцами Франции. С 1950 - на работе в Центральном разведовательном управлении [ Central Intelligence Agency]; служил в посольствах США в Швеции (1951-53), Италии (1953-58) и Южном Вьетнаме (1959-62). В 1962-67 - шеф дальневосточного отдела ЦРУ, организовывал тайные операции во Вьетнаме. В 1973 президент Р. Никсон [Nixon, Richard M.] назначил Колби директором ЦРУ. На этом посту ему пришлось отвечать перед комитетом Конгресса [ Congress, U.S.] за тайную деятельность ЦРУ (1975), попытки убийств иностранных государственных деятелей и т.п. Многие считают, что Колби спас ЦРУ от расформирования. В ноябре 1975 освобожден от должности директора президентом Фордом. По некоторым данным в мире существует около 4000 наименований сыров. Во Франции вырабатываются более 300 видов сыров, в России около 100 наименований.Известные виды сыров, играющие определенную роль на внутреннем рынке сыропроизводящих стран, а также экспортируемые в другие страны, представлены в нижеследующем списке расположенном в алфавитном порядке сыропроизводящих стран на английском и немецком языках. В основу списка, который не претендует на полноту, положены Ежегодный бюллетень Международной молочной федерации (IDF), цитируемый выпуск которого является каталогом сыров 30 сыропроизводящих стран (Annual Bulletin. Part IV. Preliminary Catalogue of Cheese Varietieis.- Bruxelles, 1971), Всемирный атлас сыров 45 стран-производителей (The World Atlas of Cheese by Nancy Feknof-Stork Paddingtone Press Ltd New York & London, 1977), Энциклопедия пищевых продуктов (Lebensmittel-Lexikon mit 12 500 Stichwörtern. – Leipzig: VEB Fachbuchverlag, 1979. – S. 438-439), Книга о сыре (В.Л. Бегунов. Книга о сыре. - М.: Пищ. промышленность, 1974. – С. 28-29). В.Л. Бегунов пишет: “Название сыра происходит, как правило, от названия города, деревни, местности, где он впервые выработан. Таково происхождение названий российских сыров – ярославского, пошехонского, угличского, алтайского, минского, карпатского, эстонского, станиславского, чуйского, валмиерского и других; французских – рокфора, камамбера, бри; итальянских – пармезана и горгонзолы; голландских – эдамского и гауда; английских – чеддара (совр. чеддера – Примеч. автора) и стилтона. Некоторые сыры носят названия рек или озер – нямунас (Неман), волжский, днестровский, нарочь. Название других определны величиной (лиллипут), формой (клинковый) или цветом (зелёный, голубой, белый), а иногда и назначением (чайный, закусочный, дорожный) или осбенностями вкуса (сливочный, пикантный, острый).
