Nota d'usoStraight significa “diritto” e si può usare in funzione di aggettivo, avverbio o sostantivo, con diversi significati: a straight line, una linea diritta, go straight home, vai dritto a casa, to enter the final straight, imboccare il rettilineo finale. Strait si pronuncia come straight, ma ha un significato molto diverso; si trova generalmente come sostantivo dal significato di “stretto, canale”: the Straits of Dover, lo stretto di Dover. -
