    ( NEF)
       Le Net des études françaises (NEF) se veut d’une part "un filet trouvé qui ne capte que des morceaux choisis du monde des études françaises, tout en tissant des liens entre eux", d’autre part un réseau dont "les auteurs sont des personnes oeuvrant dans le champ des études françaises et partageant librement leur savoir et leurs produits avec autrui". Le NEF est créé en mai 2000 par Russon Wooldridge, professeur au département d’études françaises de l’Université de Toronto (Canada), suite au premier Colloque international sur les études françaises favorisées par les nouvelles technologies d’information et de communication (Toronto, mai 2000). "Le NEF est un site web consacré à divers aspects des études françaises, notamment les outils critiques, réflexions et autres ressources, ainsi que le World Wide Web comme répositoire de textes et de bases de données textuelles, en même temps qu’objet d’étude et d’analyse critique." (Russon Wooldridge) Le NEF propose entre autres des bases textuelles interactives, par exemple les oeuvres complètes de Maupassant, ou encore les théâtres complets de Corneille, Molière, Racine, Marivaux et Beaumarchais (base Théâtres d’Ancien régime). Le NEF propose aussi nombre d’entretiens avec des professionnels de l’information. Le NEF dispose d’un site miroir sur Translatio, lui-même hébergé sur le serveur de l’Ecole nationale supérieure (ENS) de Paris. Le NEF est référencé dans les Signets de la Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF).
