В нескольких линиях инбридинг проводится в течение 40 лет. Наиболее часто в литературе упоминаются такие линии, как albino (A, Ak, BALB, Rm), black (C57 black, C58), black agouti (CBA, C3H), brown (C57 brown), dilute brown (DBA/2), dilute brown piebald (I).
