35 fancy footwork
•• With a few exceptions, conservatives have shown some fancy footwork in defending Rush. Former Bush speechwriter David Frum said, “I don’t think any less of him for having ordinary frailties.” Gary Bauer, president of American Values, made a moral distinction between getting addicted in order to get high and getting addicted to kill pain. Rich Lowry, editor of National Review, defended him to Don Imus because Rush never claimed to be a victim. And a dittohead caller on his show said, “we all make mistakes.”
•• What is a dittohead? A dittohead is someone who enjoys Rush Limbaugh’s show, independently of whether or not they agree with him all the time. The first time it was used was after one caller lavished praise for Rush’s show without necessarily agreeing with all he had to say. The next caller said, “ Ditto what that guy just said” and the first “ dittohead” was born.
A devoted fan of Rush Limbaugh A person whose opinions are based entirely off of their favorite pundit’s opinions.

37 hit-man
To hire someone to kill someone else (нанять кого-либо для убийства кого-либо другого) значит to put out a contract on the victim (составить контракт на жертву). -
