Gorg. 479 c, u. oft, bes. mit εἶναι u. γίγνεσϑαι oder ὄν u. γιγνόμενον, u. oft bei Pol.; τὸ συμβεβηκός, zufälliger Umstand, der nicht nothwendig zum Wesen des Dings gehört, aber an ihm sich ereignet, eintritt, Arist. oft, vgl. topic. 1, 3; – zusammentreffen, von Summen beim Rechnen, Dem. 19, 60; und in der Dialektik von Schlußfolgen, die sich aus den Vordersätzen ergeben, τί ἡμῖν συμβαίνει ἐκ τῶν ὡμολογημένων, Plat. Gorg. 498; Theaet. 170 c u. oft. Bei Arist. gewöhnlich, wenn er aus den Sätzen anderer Philosophen widerlegende Consequenzen zieht.
