Atarabazar es cuando las leches se cuajan, pero no precisamente la leche entera, quiero decir, la leche que no ha sido privada de sus natas o grasas, ya que cuando esto sucede, se denomina lleichi cuátcha (leche cuajada). Pero se llama tarabazá a la leche que con anterioridad ha sido mazá (batida), con el fin de extraerle la manteca. Para mazar el lleiche (sacarle la manteca a la leche), en los tiempos d'endenantes se hacía por medio de dos procedimientos en mis aldeas. Uno era usando las caramañolas ou camtimples (lecheras) y el otro el más ancestral, dentro de unos odres hechos con el pelleyu (pellejo) de corderos o cabritos, denominados butiétchus, donde se introducía la leche dentro de ellos, se hinchaban de aire y luego se movía el butiétchu siempre en la misma dirección hasta que se le arrancaba la manteca a la leche. Más tarde esa leche mazá escosá de manteiga cundu chegaba ‘l cuátchu yera cundu se nomaba chétche tarabazá. (Batida y limpia de manteca, cuando llegaba a cuajar se le llamaba leche tarabazá). Esta leche tarabazá al decir de las gentes más antiguas de mis aldeas, que todas tenían algo de médicos, por ser éstos tan escasos e inalcanzables, cuento que decían mis gentes que la leche tarabazá era la bebida más sana y refrescante, capaz de curar por sí sola, tous lus amolexíus del ventrún ya 'l estómadu. (Todos los males del vientre y el estómago). Esta palabra me da pie para contarles muy someramente lo que hizo un tío mío, hermano de mi madre, una mañana que apremiado por su esposa, mazaba sudorosamente un butiétchu de leche. Llamábase mi tío que ya en la paz del Hacedor descansa, Manuel el Indiano, y a pesar de ser del todo analfabeto, sabía más letra que el propio Cervantes, y era más agudo que el panzudo Sancho. Más de catorce años había estado en La Argentina, y al fin como todo buen asturiano retornó a su querida aldea, cuando yo aun todavía no había nacido. Pero según mi madre, hizo mi tío la entrada triunfal en la aldeina dándoselas de indiano rico, y al parecer según se descubrió más tarde, no traía en su poder nada más que una pequeña cantidad de dinero que le había dado otro tío mío también hermano de mi madre, que éste sí que había hecho una caudalosa fortuna, criando ganado en un extenso rancho, que al decir de mi tío Manuel, era más grande que todo nuestro concejo junto. Rondaba los cuarenta años cuando mi tío, portando dos enormes maletas, una sonrisa amplia y prometedora, que no la haría por el bien que le habían rodado sus asuntos, sino tal vez por enseñar a propios y extraños, su fuerte y hermosa dentadura, donde se enseñoreaban una docena de relucientes dientes de oro que unido a su enorme reloj y su gruesa cadena de oro, le avalaban como indiano bétchau de cuartus. Muy posible mi tío, deduzco yo ahora, al comprender que en las américas no podía, o no sabía hacer la riqueza que había con tanto ahínco buscado, maduró en aquellas lejanas tierras la inteligente idea, de lograr conquistar en sus aldeas, alguna moza heredera de rica casería. Así pues, según mi madre, mi tío se paseaba y pavoneaba por toda la comarca, luciendo estupendos trajes de corte y moda muy americanos, a la par que hacía entrever con mucho disimulo, que poseía negocios en La Argentina, donde retornaría nada más que encontrase una linda muchacha que fuera de su agrado, para convertirla sin pérdida de tiempo en su esposa. Y como diñéiru chama 'l diñeiru (dinero llama al dinero) pronto mi tío lograba casarse con la moza más rica de la aldea, que era tal riqueza en aquellos tiempos, prados, tierras y ganados, cosas que hoy se encuentran en mis aldeas abandonados. Una vez casado el bueno de mi tío, volvía a inventarse otra historia, que era que la revolución que por aquella época se había formado en La Argentina, se apropiara de sus negocios y le habían dejado completamente sin nada. A partir de aquí poco a poco su esposa ayudaba abiertamente por su suegro que se veía en lenguas mofosas de las gentes y se consideraba que también había sido engañado, digo que entre hija y padre le fueron sometiendo y dominando, y aunque mi tío en principio intentó imponerse y hacer valer su papel de marido, de nada le sirvió, y tuvo que someterse a la tiranía continua a que le sometían su mujer y suegro, sino quería perder lo que tan hábilmente había cazado. Extenderme más en cosas de mi tío, seria fomentar una larga historia que no cuadra en este libro que ha nacido para diccionario, por eso retornaré a la mañana por mi presenciada, en que el bueno de mi tío mazaba la leche sudoroso y desesperado, atacado en todo instante por la continua riña de su esposa, que con la chingüa mexoriaba per él, lu mesmu que se fora un enllordiáu fatu. (Que con la lengua le hacía mucho daño al tratarle como si fuese un verdadero pingajo). Aquel día era lunes, y por lo tanto habla mercado como todas las semanas en la capital del concejo, a donde todas las aldeanas bajaban a vender los huevos, la manteca, los cuayaus (cuajados), etc., etc., y mercar a la vez los enreus (cosas) que se necesitaban para toda la semana. Ya era tarde y mi tía necesitaba aquella última manteca que mi tío con tanto trabajo estaba mazando, y como tardaba según mi tía más de la cuenta, empezó a insultarle de esta manera: —Entaina Manolu, ya deíxate de carpir, ya amazuca la lleiche con más priexa, perque paeme a mín que yes más ñatiu qu'un neniquín d'entamu. (Apúrate Manolo, déjate de protestar, de suspirar, de quejarte, y bate la leche con más prisa, porque me parece a mí, que eres más inútil que un niño de pecho). Nada le respondió mi tío, aunque seguía haciendo su trabajo maldiciendo y murmarando palabras que no entendía, pero otra vez volvió su esposa a la carga diciéndole: —Nun se xempre lu dixe you, que nun tenes llixa namái que pa xurniar trés el fuéu estingarraún nel escanu, ya p'encalducar mamplenáus de puches ya gavitus. (No si siempre lo he dicho yo, que no tienes fuerza, alma, etc., nada más que para estar dormitando detrás del fuego acostado en el escaño, y para hacer muchos razonamientos, protestas y cuentos sin ningún valor). Mi tío no le respondía a sus insultos y el pobre seguía mazando la leche sin detenerse, y de vez en cuando le daba pequeños golpecitos al butiétchu (odre) mirándole al trasluz, para comprobar si ya estaba la manteca hecha. Otra goxada (cesta grande) de ofensivos insultos le lanzó mi tía de esta forma en el parejo que se estaba atando el moño:—Non pos comu nun me faigas la mazaura lluéu, xúrutelu pe lu más xagráu qu'ista semana vas fumaretiar pel ráu del bracu, perque nun tenu treti 'l tabacu de la Villa axín nus esmuelguemus a tochazus. (No pues como no me hagas la manteca luego, te lo juro por lo más sagrado que toda esta semana vas a fumar por el rabo del cerdo, porque no he de traerte el tabaco de la Villa así nos degollemos a palos). —Quiero destacar, que si algún vicio desencaldaba (desarmaba) a mi tío, era precisamente el de ser un fumador empedernido, ya que yo le he visto en muchas ocasiones fumar hasta las hojas de los artos y de las patatas, pues él afirmaba, que tales hojas bien mauras y'enxuchinas (bien maduras y muy secas), tenían un ligero parecido con el tabaco. Por tal razón, cuando escuchó a su esposa amenazarle con que no le iba traer el tabaco para la semana, se sulfuró de tal modo y manera, que cesando de mazar, se levantó airado de encima del garbetu (tronco nudoso de madera donde se suele partir la leña) donde en la caleya 'l lláu de sou teixá taba xentáu mazuchandu (en la calleja al lado de su casa estaba sentado haciendo la manteca) y dirigiéndose endemoniadamente rabioso hacia su mujer con el butiétchu (odre) entre sus manos, que tendría dentro de él sobre unos diez litros de leche, digo, que levantando con enloquecida fuerza el odre con entrambas manos en el alto, se lo estrapachóu (reventó) en medio de la cabeza, poniéndola toda enllordá ya pingandu de lleiche (sucia y mojada de leche), en el parexu lleldar que che falaba. s. Topón. Para algunos estudiosos significa mojón o mojones de piedra; o también hito, señal, punto de referencia, núcleo. Los cronistas Inka Garcilaso de la Vega, Wamán Poma de Ayala y otros definen Qosqo, como ombligo, relievando la función política y administrativa de la ciudad capital tawantinsuyana. A su vez el cronista Femando de Montesinos informa que procede de qosqos que significa montones de tierra y piedras, que había en el valle del Watanay elegido. En la actualidad los indígenas siguen utilizando el término con igual significación. || Geog. Departamento del Perú con 832,504. habitantes, siendo sus provincias: Qosqo, Acomayo, Anta, Calca, Canas, Candáis, Chumbivilcas, Espinar, La Convención, Paruro, Paucartambo, Quispicanchis y Urubamba. || Provincia del departamento del mismo nombre con ocho distritos: Qosqo, Poroy, Qhorqa, Santiago, San Sebastián, San Jerónimo, Saylla y Wanchaq. || Ciudad, capital del distrito, provincia y departamento de los mismos nombres. Ubicación: 13° 29'1", latitud Sur y 7°58'45" longitud Oeste; altitud de 3,350 m.s.n.m. en el centro de la Plaza de Armas. La orografía presenta contrafuertes de los cerros con suaves pendientes del 12% al 30% de inclinaciones en las partes altas y llanos en las partes bajas. || Etnohist. e Hist. Ciudad del Qosqo. PREINKA. Las condiciones geológicas e hidrológicas del Valle del Qosqo, en esta región sur de los Andes del Perú, posibilitaron el asentamiento permanente de grupos humanos durante más de tres mil años, en cuyo proceso evolutivo el hombre ha establecido un continuo desarrollo histórico socio-cultural, primigeniamente testimoniado por sus restos materíales. La Arqueología, con fines de periodificación, ha identificado grupos étnicos preinkaicos. Así tenemos: Markavalle, forma de asentamiento humano de tipo aldeano (1,100 a.C). Su desarrollo inmediato lo es Chanapata (800 a.C.); ambos penenecen al periodo formativo. A estos suceden grupos sociales más densos e integrados políticamente en senoríos y pequeños estados regionales, también conocido como Qotakalle (600 a.C). El desarrollo de éste, está representado por los Killke (800 d.C). Lukre es otra forma socio cultural mutada de la anterior (1,000 d.C.) En los primeros años del siglo XIII de nuestra era, el valle del Qosqo estuvo habitada por varios grupos étnicos: Laris, Phoqes, Sawasiray, Antasayas, Wallas (que eran oriundos); Alqawisas, Qopalimaytas y Khallunchimas (que eran advenedizos, consentidos por los primeros). INCA. Por estos años hicieron su aparición por el valle grupos humanos extraños conformando diez grupos étnicos, conforme a la tradición mítica, liderados por un señor curaca de nombre Manqo Qhapaq y de una mujer de nombre Mama Oqllo, quienes se proclamaban ser hijos del Sol; asimismo pregonaban ser enviados en misión "civilizadora ", por lo tanto, todas las gentes de la tierra debían obedecerlos. En nombre del Sol ocuparon y dominaron el valle del Qosqo, cuyo nombre antiguo era Aqhamama o Madre Chicha. Manqo Qhapaq lo cambió por Qosqo o Mojón de Piedra, en memoria de su hermano Ayar Awqa que se convirtió en piedra en este lugar, construyendo un templo dedicado a su padre el Sol, llamado Inti Kancha, que posteriormente se llamaría Qorikancha. A partir de este templo, dividió el lugar en cuatro sectores: Q'ente Kancha, Yaranpuy Kancha, Sayri Kanchay Chunpi Kancha para dar cavida a sus seguidores. Así se desarrolló una estructura mítica de conquista y dominación socioeconómica e ideológica en la región cusqueña por parte de estos qheswas procedentes del sur (Paqariktanpu), que ulteriormente formaron el Estado Tawantinsuyano, cuya capital fue precisamente la ciudad del Qosqo, Qosqo Willka Llaqta, Qosqo Ciudad Sagrada, capital del Gran Imperio Tawantinsuyu. En los inicios del siglo XV el Señorío Ch'anka invadió el Qosqo, saqueándolo. A los pocos años, cuando Wiraqocha Inka, ya viejo, ostentaba el reynado, los Ch'ankas nuevamente atacan este próspero Señorío, al parecer ya no con el sólo propósito de saquearlo, sino de conquistarlo, y así extender su dominio. Por los antecedentes pasados, Wiraqocha Inka se refugió en su palacio fuera del Qosqo. Ante este hecho, uno de sus hijos jóvenes asumió el reto para proteger el Señorío y su territorio, y decidió organizar un ejército multiétnico para hacer frente a los invasores. Después de una cruenta lucha, los qheswas y sus aliados derrotaron a los Ch'ankas, destruyendo y saqueándolos en sus pueblos, regresando victoriosos al Qosqo, con botines y prisioneros. Como señal de triunfo, los botines fueron distribuidos entre los curacazgos participantes en la guerra, estableciéndose así lazos de integración políticos y territorial en perspectiva. Este joven valiente era Inka Yupanki, que más tarde se llamaría Pachakuteq o Transformador del Mundo, por las innovaciones fundamentales que realizó y sus dotes personales. Sin duda, este Inka fue uno de los hombres más grandes y geniales que dió América Andina prehispánica. Pachakuteq asumió el poder (1,438-1,471) y empezó la expansión regional y luego inter regional, iniciándose así la formación del Estado Inka, que se llamaría Tawantinsuyu o la Nación de las Cuatro Regiones; Qosqo fue su capital. Pachakuteq reconstruye la ciudad del Qosqo, reestructurándola en los aspectos urbano espacial, arquitectónica y funcionalmente, dándole la forma felina (puma) al centro político-religioso, como símbolo de fuerza y poder. Asimismo, instituyó, organizó y reestructuró varias instituciones sociales y religiosas: la mita, mitmaq, agrohidráulica en gran escala, culto oficial al Sol, sistema de las aqllas, modelo urbano funcional, etc. La Ciudad del Qosqo en su estructura urbano- espacial y social, al igual que otros aspectos y elementos, estuvo dividida de acuerdo a un principio dual diametral: Hanan Qosqo, mitad superior o parte de arriba del Qosqo; Urin Qosqo, mitad inferior o parte baja del Qosqo. A su vez, cada uno de estos sectores estuvo dividido en dos subsectores o parcialidades: Allawka o derecha; Icho o izquierda, los mismos que representaban a niveles y jerarquías verticales y horizontales recíprocas y complementarias, siendo de mayor importancia los primeros sobre los segundos, conformando así los cuatro suyus o parcialidades de la ciudad, delimitados por los caminos reales, reflejando así una pequeña escala del Tawantinsuyu. Conforme a esta dualidad, la ciudad del Qosqo tenía dos plazas: uno en el Hanan Qosqo, el Hawkaypata, y otro en el Urin Qosqo, el Rimaqpanpa. También tuvo dos principales Templos del Sol: Qorikancha del Urin Qosqo, y Saqsaywaman del Hanan Qosqo, cada uno de ellos con sus propias plazas, ushnus y tierras asignadas: Intipanpa y Sawseda del primero, y Chukipanpa (actual explanada del Saqsaywaman) y Qolqanpata del segundo. Además la ciudad del Qosqo era un "espacio sagrado" conformado por más de 350 wakas o adoratorios de diversos tipos y funciones religiosas y astronómicas, dispuestos en un radio de más de veinte kilómetros a la redonda, a partir del Qorikancha, que era el núcleo de este sistema seq'e, y ubicados en las cuatro parcialidades o suyus: Chinchay y Anti en el sector Hanan; Qolla y Qonti en el Urin. Los adoratorios, a su vez, estuvieron distribuidos en 41 seq'es, "líneas imaginarias" o senderos, ubicados entre jerarquías: Qollana, mayor principal; Payan, intermedio o secundario; y Kayao u originario; las mismas estuvieron asignadas al cuidado de ayllus y panakas. De los adoratorios, el mayor número lo constituían manantiales, fuentes, rocas, palacios, templos, observatorios astronómicos osukankas, etc. La ciudad del Qosqo fue el patrón y modelo urbano, arquitectónico y funcional para los otros centros urbanos administrativos principales, como capitales regionales y provinciales, caso Inkawasi en Cañete, Wanukupanpa, P'isaq, Mawq'a Llaqta, Pata Llaqta (Q'ente Marka) y Machupijchu. Con la invasión europea, se inició la destrucción política, económica e ideológica del Tawantinsuyu, que los Inkas, bajo principios de reciprocidad, redistribución con un aparato tecnoburocrático- administrativo y monopolista, de carácter despótico y teocrático, habían integrado y desarrollado. Este estado inka, el más grande y complejo del área andina prehispánica, fue la síntesis económica, política, tecnológica y religiosa de sus antecesores. La periferie de la ciudad estuvo circundado por trece barrios en los que vivía el pueblo: Qolqanpata, Qantupata, Pumakurku, Munaysenqa, T'oqokachi, Rimaqpanpa, Pumaqchupan, Kayaokachi, Chakillchaka, Pikchu, K'illipata, Karmenqa y Wakapunku. COLONIAL. El 23 de marzo de 1534 se funda la ciudad española iniciándose el dominio de la Corona Española, creando las nuevas instituciones políticas, administrativas y eclesiásticas para emprender un nuevo orden cultural. En 1536, frente a los atropellos y abusos por parte de los occidentales,el ejército de Manqo Inka, sitia la ciudad del Qosqo, con el propósito de reestablecer y reinvindicar el estado y sistema social inka, quemando la ciudad; pero los andinos fueron derrotados en Saqsaywaman y luego en Ollantaytanbo. Posteriormente, Manko Inka se retiró a Willkapanpa, hoy Espíritu Panpa, para organizar desde allí la resistencia que duró hasta 1572, con la captura y muerte en la Plaza del Qosqo del último Inka Tupaq Amaru I, por orden del Virrey Francisco de Toledo. Entre los primeros españoles se distribuyeron la ciudad y sus alrededores mediante el "reparto desolares". Se construyeron viviendas de los particulares, luego iglesias, modificando de este modo ligeramente su forma e imagen urbano-arquitectónica y desarrollándose una simbiosis socio-cultural: andina y occidental. REPUBLICANO. En la actualidad, por ser depositario de un gran número de restos arqueológicos, la ciudad del Qosqo fue reconocida como Capital Arqueológica de Sud América, y en 1983 declarada por las Organización de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo de la Ciencia y Cultura, UNESCO, como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad, en reconocimiento y valoración de su rica herencia patrimonial y de su vigencia socio-cultural. Hoy es el centro de mayor atracción turística del Perú y de Sud América y en los últimos años viene siendo embellecida más a través de una serie de obras urbano-arquitectónicas emprendidas por la Municipalidad del Qosqo. || Arqueol. En la actual ciudad del Qosqo se encuentran los grandes palacios reales inkas, con las siguientes ubicaciones: en la parte alta, Hanan Qosqo: Qolqanpata, palacio de Manqo Qhapaq; Qasana, de Pachakuteq; Qora Qora, de Inka Roqa; palacio de Waskar, palacio Kunturkancha; palacio de Qhapaq Yupanki; Qiswarkancha, de Wiraqocha Inka; más los edificios del Kuyusmanqo o Consejo Real, Yachay Wasi, Suntur Wasi y Tanpu de Qontisuyu; en la parte baja, Urin Qosqo, a su vez, se encuentran los siguientes palacios: Amaru Kancha, del Inka Wayna Qhapaq; Hatun Kancha, de Tupaq Yupanki; Hatinmiyoq, de Inka Roqa; Pukamarka, de Amaru Inka Yupanki; palacio de Mayta Qhapaq; palacio de Lloqe Yupanki; y Palacio de Sinchi Roqa. Además estuvieron el Qorikancha o Templo del Sol, el templo de la Pachamama y el Tanpu de Qollasuyu. Igualmente la ciudad es depositaría de hermosos templos coloniales que a su vez guardan joyas, imágenes, ornamentos sagrados y pinturas pertenecientes a la Escuela Cusqueña, cuyos rasgos artísticos le han otorgado fama mundial. -

Pero fue precisamente el ama cuando el cura se murió la que descubrió lo que cada día amanecido el cura hacía, que no era otra cosa, que el embrujarlos a todos lo mismo que ella embrujada estaba, haciéndoles creer que todas aquellas formas y maneras que él tenía cuando les predicaba, dentro de sus sulfurantes y alucinantes misterios, eran el fruto de la divina gracia que le daban los santos, las güestias y apagüestias, y todo el sinfín de divinidades que poblaban los santos lugares donde se asienta el Reino del Hacedor. —Por aquellos tiempos llega la aldea un indiano hijo de ella, que después de vivir muchos años en las américas, regresaba con su cartera llena de dineros, que lo hicieron al cura con grande prisa buscar la forma de esquilarle parte de ellos. Así fue que comenzó sermoneándole, hablándole de las cosas y misterios divinos, por las que sus fenecidos padres con él se ponían en contacto, no dejaran de sufriendo hacer tales cosas, mientras que alguien no les ofreciera montones de misas y cantidades de limosnas a la santa y santinos de la aldea. Pero el indiano que según parecía le tenía mucho más apego a sus dineros que a todas las divinidades que hablaba por cura, no estaba predispuesto a entregarle aquel ladronzuelo sus dineros, por esto tomó por cuento todo cuanto decía el cura, y hasta se reía por lo bajo de sus vecinos y tontas creencias, lo mismo que de aquel cura predicador, que según su parecer era mucho más listo e inteligente de todos cuantos él había escuchado y visto en las américas, que también tenían la costumbre siempre atemorizando a las gentes con cosas divinas, de robarles el dinero lo mismo que el cura de su aldea pretendía. —Así estaban las cosas cuando el cura comenzó a rondar todas las noches la casa del indiano, vestido como los fantasmas, en el parejo que hacía sonar cadenas y cencerros, y de vez en cuando decía con voz de ultratumba cosas que el indiano tenía que hacer, sino quería que al diablo y las güestias de sus padres que pidiéndole estaban, le enloqueciesen de miedo por no creer en las cosas santas y sagradas del Hacedor. —El indiano que aunque se hacía el listo, en su pensamiento las fuerzas y creencias de su ancestro lo dominaban, y aconsejado por sus vecinos que de continuo le hablaban, que las ánimas que rondaban su casa no eran otras que las de sus padres y por otro lado también le decían, que para que quería su riqueza sino podía gozarlas con felicidad y sosiego, así pues, todos le suplicaban que hiciera lo que la apagüestia le ordenaba. —Creyendo o no creyendo el caso fue que el indiano comenzó a dar ricas limosnas a los santos y la santina de la aldea hasta que una noche sintieron a la güestia con grande sufrimiento quejarse, pronunciando unos alaridos tan llenos de dolor que todas las gentes de la embrujadora aldeina rezaban en el silencio atemorizante de sus casas, porque el santo del Hacedor remediara el grande sufrimiento de aquella alma en pena. —Cuando llegó el amanecer del día, los vecinos de la embrujadora aldeina, vieron que la güestia en la que ellos creían no era tal ánima, sino que era el propio cura vestido de fantasma, que se encontraba muerto, por la causa de que al saltar la cerca del huerto del indiano, se habla clavado una aguzante estaca en la barriga, que le hizo morir con las tripas en la mano, pidiendo acolmillado por el dolor la ayuda que nadie le dio, por mor de pensar todos que era la güestia quien se quejaba. —Desde aquél día ya jamás nadie creyó en la aldea ni en güestias ni en ánimas condenadas que no hacían otra cosa nada más, que atemorizarles con un temor divinizante para robarles sus menguados intereses, con los que se hartaban los curas y todo el rosario de gentes con sotana.Primer Diccionario Enciclopédicu de la Llingua Asturiana > güestia
