Vaqueirada, así se llama a la canción ancestral de Asturias, las vaqueirades son canciones que dicen cantando la filosofía de la vida, con tan natural y sencilla forma, que cada tonada es un cante a la madre Naturaleza, es un cante a las creencias misteriosas y a la divina vida, yo desde niño he cantado muchas vaqueiráes, algunas de ellas como la de esta poesía me las inventaba cada día. “LES MIOUS VAQUINES” —Vaquines les mious vaquines, que pastiáis yerbes froríes nes brañes ya les morteires, nus puertus ya les guarices, ya nus préus de les texáes. —Dáisme lleichi tous lus díes cun la que cumu les papes, feigu queixus ya cuacháes, entruxus d'afuega 'l pitu ya manteigues esñidiadas. —Dáisme vaquinines mioés tous lus anus un bon xatu qu'en cuatus fai cuarexada, cun lus que mercu les couxes p'atreinar la miou teixada. —Dáisme carriétches de cuchu que les tierres esfamiades al xemales m'arreclamen, perque famientes nun críen nagua de mious trabayades. —Dáisme xuníes al xugu la xuntura de llabranza, que fáe qu'el llabiegu llabre xemandu 'n xétcha esmianada les pataques ya l'escanda. —Dáisme vaquinines mióes la vida na miou teixada, dáime un xatiquín al anu, dáime la lleichi yal xugu, xudores de miou llabranza. —Vaquines les mious vaquines, que xan Antón vous resguardie del osu ou las chobadas, d'un baltiu que vous esmoique ou vous dexe ‘scontonádas. —En mi querida Asturias yo pienso que desde hace muchísimos años se han querido confundir quizás con el ánimo de olvidarlas, las raíces más hermosas y profundas que tiene la Cultura Hispana.
