Big deal — что-то важное. Not a big deal - ерунда. Мы объясняем загадочностью американской души тот факт, что Big deal! В разговоре чаще всего и означает Not a big deal!, т. е. используется с сарказмом.
Big idea — обычно в выражении "what's the big idea?" Смысл: что ты с этой ерундой носишься, что ты хочешь этим сказать и т. д. Оттенки те же, что и у нашего "Велика важность!"
Big man — это запросто может означать и отца (родного), и поставщика наркотиков (см. Drug pusher). Еще одно слово с тем же вторым значением - broker.
