Ульм, город в федеральной земле Баден-Вюртемберг. Расположен на левом берегу Дуная. Символ города евангелический собор, второй по величине в Германии (после Кёльнского) в стиле готики. Экономический и культурный центр, научные учреждения (в т.ч. научно-исследовательский центр автомобильного концерна Даймлер-Бенц), университет (с 1967), высшее специализированное учебное заведение техники и информатики (Fachhochschule für Technik und Informatik). В 1781 г. построен по подписке один из первых городских театров в Германии. В Ульме начинается туристический маршрут "Верхнешвабская дорога барокко" ("Oberschwäbische Barockstraße"). Один из традиционных туристических объектов – квартал рыбаков и кожевников (Fischer- und Gerberviertel) на берегу р. Блау (Blau), притока Дуная.
