A steam and odour of fat which exhales from roasting meat, smell or savour of a burnt sacrifice ( ἡ λιπαροῦ θυμίασις, opp. λιγνύς, Arist.Mete. 387b6, cf. 388a5); ; , cf.Ar.Av. 193, 1517: generally, odour of savoury meat, Id.Ach. 1045 (lyr.), Alex.261.4;αἱ ἐκ τῶν αἱμάτων καὶ σαρκῶν κ.
