पर्वन् n. [पॄ-वनिप् Uṇ.4.112.] पर्व स्यादुत्सवे ग्रन्थौ प्रस्तावे लक्षणान्तरे' इति विश्वः.1 A knot, joint; मासाश्चार्धमासाश्च पर्वाणि; Bṛi. Up.1.1.1. 5 दानव
dānavám. (fr. 2. dā́u) a class of demons often identified with the Daityas orᅠ Asuras andᅠ held to be implacable enemies of the gods orᅠ Devas RV. AV. ṠBr. Mn. MBh. etc. (described as children of Danu andᅠ Kaṡyapa, sometimes reckoned as 40 in number MBh. I, 252 ;
sometimes as 100 etc.);
