אָשַׁר(b. h., √אש, v. אשש) to exist, be strong, happy; v. יָשַׁר. Pi. אִישֵּׁר, אִשֵּׁר (b. h.) 1) to exalt, praise, declare happy. Pesik. Sifra Kdosh. beg. (play on אֲשֵׁרִים) על שם שהם מִתְאַשְּׁרִים מאחרים because they are put up by others.
