55 -economic, economical o cheap?-
Per indicare, invece, qualcosa che fa risparmiare perché particolarmente efficiente si usa l'aggettivo economical: What is the most economical car?, qual è l'auto più economica? Allo stesso modo, economical fa anche riferimento al concetto di parsimonia: tips for economical management, suggerimenti per fare economia. Infine, l'aggettivo cheap corrisponde a “economico” nel senso di “poco costoso”: This restaurant is very cheap, questo ristorante è molto economico. Talvolta cheap viene usato anche in senso spregiativo: She always wears cheap clothes, indossa sempre vestiti da poco.English-Italian dictionary > -economic, economical o cheap?-

56 -to enter o to go in?-
Nota d'usoIl verbo entrare può essere tradotto con “to enter” o con il verbo frasale “to go in/into”. “To enter” è utilizzato in contesti formali e non è seguito da nessuna preposizione: Tutti i delegati stanno entrando nella Sala Ovale, all the delegates are entering the Oval Office. Nell'inglese di tutti i giorni, invece, si utilizza di solito il verbo “to go in” (o “to go into” se si specifica il luogo in cui si entra): Potete entrare, you can go in; Entrarono nel ristorante, they went into the restaurant. -
57 -to have breakfast (lunch, dinner, ecc.)-
Nota d'usoQuando in inglese si parla dei pasti in generale, non si antepone l'articolo al pasto: Yesterday we had dinner in a good restaurant (non we had a dinner), ieri abbiamo cenato in un buon ristorante.English-Italian dictionary > -to have breakfast (lunch, dinner, ecc.)-
