a 1. каждый, всякий; 2. все (1). Слово every по значению сходно с прилагательным all. Оно предполагает группу людей или однородных объектов, не менее трех, и подчеркивает объединение всех участников группы без исключения:to copy every word of the letter — переписать письмо от слова до слова (дословно);
to have every reason to believe it — иметь все основания этому верить.
Every отличается от all тем, что употребляется всегда с исчисляемыми существительными только в единственном числе, в то время как all может употребляться и с исчисляемыми, и с неисчисляемыми существительными, и во множественном, и в единственном числе.Ср. Every day is busy и All days are busy — Каждый день занят и Все дни заняты.

(2).
