1 Babel Fish Translation
Appelé aussi à ses débuts AltaVista Translation, Babel Fish Translation est un service de traduction automatique lancé en décembre 1997 par le moteur de recherche AltaVista, en partenariat avec la société Systran, spécialisée dans les logiciels de traduction. A l’origine, Babel Fish permet de traduire une page web ou un texte relativement court de l’anglais vers les langues suivantes: allemand, espagnol, français, italien et portugais, et vice versa. Ce service rencontre un succès immédiat, et reste toujours très utilisé dans les années 2000, avec augmentation des combinaisons de langues possibles. -
