(др.-евр. - [давайте] славить Господа; греч. allelouia, лат. alleluia) - аллилуйя - религиозный возглас восхваления и радости. Встречается только в Псалмах еврейской Библии (Пс. 103-150) и транслитерирован в Септуагинте и Вульгате. В Древнем Израиле он произносился во время чтений Псалмов, чтобы воодушевить присутствующих на участие в богослужении. Стал словом великой хвалы Богу (3 Макк. 7:13; Откр. 19:1-8) и занимал видное место в литургии ранней церкви.
