Технология, применяемая в цифр. ( Digital) спутниковой связи (в т. ч. в спутниковом ТВ). Предназначена для обеспечения целостности данных ( Data) при передаче на несущих частотах с низким Eb / No. Проводится декодером Витерби ( Viterbi), который восстанавливает двоичную ( Binary) последовательность по методу макс. правдоподобия, с учётом ранее принятых последовательностей-кодов. Кол-во ошибочных бит на выходе декодера Витерби не превышает 1×10ˉ⁴. Следующая коррекция проводится ( после блокового перемежения) декодером Рида-Соломона, который устраняет остаточные групповые ошибки, «разбитые» после блокового перемежения.
