v 1. поступать, действовать; 2. вести себя (1). В отличие от русского вести себя, английский глагол to behave не требует возвратного местоимения:to behave with great courage — вести себя/действовать храбро;
to know how to behave — уметь вести себя/знать, как действовать;
to behave towards smb — хорошо вести себя по отношению к кому-либо.
(2). Этому же правилу подчиняется глагол to feel:to feel happy (young, bad, etc.) — чувствовать себя счастливым (молодым, больным и т. п.).
(3). Употребление словосочетания behave yourself! подразумевает, что до этого человек вел себя неподобающим образом: -
