¿To close o to shut?
To close hace referencia a acciones lentas y ocasiones formales o solemnes (cerró la puerta con cuidado para no despertar a los niños, he closed the door carefully so as not to wake up the children), mientras que to shut expresa más bien brusquedad, fuerza o rudeza: ¡Cállate!, Shut up! Cerró la puerta en mis narices. He shut the door in my face.
