Находится в центральной части штата Мэриленд, в 16 км к юго-востоку от г. Вашингтона. Основной военный аэродром столичного региона. Создана как тренировочная база для летчиков в 1943, первоначально называлась Кэмп-Спрингс [Camp Springs Air Force Base], названа в честь генерала ВВС Ф. Эндрюса [Andrews, Frank M.]; существенно расширена в 1962. На территории базы расположен штаб командования разработками систем вооружений ВВС [ Air Force Systems Command].
