    <The word ṡrī is frequently used as an honorific prefix (= « sacred», « holy») to the names of deities (e.g.. Ṡri-Durgā, Ṡrī-Rāma), andᅠ may be repeated two, three, orᅠ even four times to express excessive veneration. (e.g.. Ṡrī-ṡrī-Durgā etc.);
    it is alsoᅠ used as a respectful title (like « Reverend») to the names of eminent persons as well as of celebrated works andᅠ sacred objects
    (e.g.. Ṡrī-Jayadeva. ṠrīBhāgavata), andᅠ is often placed at the beginning orᅠ back of letters, manuscripts, important documents etc.;
